George was there at the beginning - all of 1966. Lived in a tent, ate with Mess Kits all year long, except for Sunday nights when we had WWII C-Rations, took cold water showers, shared a six hole outhouse, (With the proverbial burning of the...) But enjoyed our "Wonderful Beach!" George was a TSgt/MSgt and ran Teletype Maintenance. He had about a dozen Techs working for him. He also maintained the Telautograph Equipment which had a Composer/Transmitter in Base Weather and various Receivers at various locations around the Base including the Air Traffic Control Tower.
